Chelsea once again showed their soft centre against Palace and Lampard may consider bringing Antonio Rudiger back into his back four.
Fikayo Tomori is close to fitness but he will not be involved.
Kante is out with a hamstring strain and Gilmour has been ruled out for up to fourth months after having knee surgery.
Christian Pulisic will be looking to continue his fine form since the restart.
Predicted Chelsea XI to face Sheffield United (4-3-3): Kepa; James, Christensen, Zouma, Azpilicueta; Barkley, Kovacic, Mount; Willian, Giroud, Pulisic
